Support Hands up!

We hope you will support this campaign started by Dawniy, a home educating Mum, to give children a chance to speak up for their home education and to keep home ed as we want it to be. You can find the site to look at wonderful contributions to this action here.

Anomalous education.

Ministers and the DfES have described our current freedoms to home educate our children in accordance with our own philosophies and beliefs an “anomaly” that is not in line with government policies. The DfES is making arrangements for consultations to consider how to bring about changes in the law about education in order to correct this anomaly, and what the changes should be. Supporting Dawniy's campaign is an easy and fun way to give the children a say and show what you think!

What to do

Here is what Dawniy says you need to do:

Do an outline of your hands ............. Put your name on one palm ................ on the other palm write your home education wish or hopes ...... Decorate your hands ....

Send your hands with your wish to handsup4homeed@aol.com Or email me for postal address.

Thank You, dawniy x

NEWS

A support event was held on Monday 26th March, to give a "Big Hand to the Hands Up 4 Home Ed campaign."  Families from around Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire had fun taking part to support this very positive campaign and show the Prime Minister that home education is great and we, and our children, love home educating in our own special ways - by drawing our hands to wave at No 10 Downing Street! Let the children be heard! We all send good wishes to the campaign and thanks Dawniy for your tireless work at events!

Among our medium sized collection of families there were representatives from

AHEd

Nottingham EO

Mansfield Independent home ed support group

Stapleford Christian group,

Amber Valley home ed group,

Sumac pre-school no-school group,

Independents who don't usually attend groups
